About me and my blog

Hi there, and welcome to my blog! My name is Leonie, I’m a graphic designer that loves fashion, vintage, chocolate and (!!!) traveling. I work online as a designer, writer and content creator and have my own brand of postcards and prints. (Click here for my Etsy shop.)

Since I work online I can basically travel whenever and wherever I want, and yet this is not going to be one of those typical travel blogs. I believe the world wide web is already pretty saturated with blogs full of handy tips and to-do-lists for all those destinations and don’t think I have anything useful to add to that. But then, what am I writing about?

Telling stories

I’d much rather tell you all about what happens to me on my travels, or what I notice about life in general. About why things are the way they are and when you need to change something or rather accept it the way it is. But also about how to get everything out of life whilst avoiding the overwhelm that comes with all of this worlds’ impressions and creative ways to tackle you. Being the huge introvert that I am, that’s something I still find hard at times. But practice makes progress. I’ve made it into a habit to pull myself out of my comfort zone, which sometimes results in major setbacks, really. Most of the time though, nothing but cool things happen to me, that for sure wouldn’t have occurred if I stayed at home with a blanket and a cup of tea. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)

Traveling alone for the first time

I remember the first time I hopped on a plane completely alone a few years ago, with destination Copenhagen. I was super nervous, but also weirdly enthusiastic. I had never travelled much, let alone by myself, and always chose my comfort zone over exploring new destinations. I was afraid to be so far away from home, afraid of what might happen, afraid of so many things. But there, on that plane to Copenhagen, seeing the world from above, something clicked inside of me, cause that was amazing! For a few days straight I wandered around the city on my own, without the pressure of a travel companion, without having to listen to anyones opinion, completely alone with my very own thoughts. It’s funny how, when there’s no one there to interrupt you anymore, things get super clear and you know exactly what you want.

Happiness, and how to find it and stuff

Over the past few years I’ve had my share of nice trips in Europe and lived in Spain for two months. All of this taught me to always keep an open mind, how to rely on myself and most of all to focus on what makes me happy. I also learned that doing that is easier when you write down the things you think about. And so I’m starting all over again with this blog (I hear you think ‘All over again?‘… This blogpost explains it all.) In the next few months I will travel a lot and tell you all about what’s keeping me busy, oh this blog as well as on my instagram account. Are you reading along?

With love,
